I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist specializing in individual, couples, family and group therapy. I graduated from Adler School of Professional Psychology, earning my Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling Art Therapy. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Benedictine University. Previously, I worked for Adventist Glen Oaks Hospital as the art therapist for their four unit behavioral health department. Working at Glen Oaks, provided me with a wide range of experience. I provided counseling to an array of individuals with varying diagnosis, ranging from depression, anxiety, substance abuse, bipolar, and schizophrenia.
I have also gained experience through an internship with the YWCA as a Rape Crisis Victim Advocate and with Family Shelter Services, which specializes in domestic violence treatment and care. I have also provided services at The Birt Group in Wheaton, IL, counseling court-ordered DUI clients using cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy and client-centered approaches within a group setting.
In addition to providing counseling at Forward Emotion, I also facilitate art therapy groups and creative art workshops at Sol Sana Studio in Naperville, IL.
I am a caring and thoughtful person who is interested in helping others. I have been through many trials and tribulations in my own life and personally value the power of therapy.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, creating art of my own, and learning new things.
